James Hans Hamilton (1810-1863) was a wealthy landlord and member of parliament. The paper discusses his life and work. After his death the Hamilton Testimonial Committee organised the design and building of a monument to him in Skerries. The design of the monument is discussed and described and a suggestion made as to who the architect might have been. (17 pages).
