Contents– An interesting and very readable account of the coming of electricity to Ireland. Private enterprise which spearheaded the event was replaced in the 1930’s by the ESB. Technical and commercial data and e.g. the story of the Pidgeon House are discussed. The case of Skerries in particular is treated with many interesting details about the town and its personalities in the early 20th century. There is a final short section on Dún Laoghaire/Kingstown.
