In April 1956, John Fox aged 32, a native of Skerries and his wife Peggy sailed on the “Freemantle Star” from Liverpool bound for Auckland, New Zealand. John Fox kept a journal during the 39 day voyage – the subject of this paper. An introduction gives a short account of the Fox family of Skerries and of the writings of the author of the journal John Fox, alias Sionnac.
