Synopsis: An overview of Cricket in Fingal from the late 19th century to the mid twentieth century covering a period when there were at least 25 cricket clubs in the area. This may have been due to the arrival of the summer visitors (middle class and more likely to play cricket) and the existence of large estates such as Ardgillan, Hampton Hall and Kenure. A close look at Skerries in the first part of the twentieth century when there were seven different clubs in the Skerries area and how the local clubs fared over the years.
