A detailed account of how the American Civil War affected the lives of several individuals and families originally from Skerries. These include Richard Seaver of Chapel St, Skerries and the Hynes and Casey families of Balcunnin who fought for the Union side. Amongst those who fought for the Confederate side were Lawrence Duff from Holmpatrick, his nephew, John Duff, John Hand (and wife Mary), John Walker of Walker’s Corner and John and Peter King from Cross St.
