This paper was delivered on a fateful night 2001/9/11 but paradoxically is an enjoyable trip into nostalgia of the 50s – 70s in Skerries. It deals with Red Island holiday camp, the Pavilion Ballroom, and the author’s life as a member of a skiffle band and other bands, including the very successful all-Skerries Showband, the Graduates.
