Synopsis: A history of Liam MacGabhann, socialist and journalist, who lived in Skerries during the 1940s. The paper traces his early skirmishes with authority as a fledgeling journalist who did not see eye to eye with the then government, his life in Skerries and membership of the Sailing Club, his coming to prominence as a journalist in the 1930s and later big news stories which he brought to the attention of the Irish people.
