This paper consists of a short article by Frank Matthews published in Astronomy & Space, issue of March/April 1996, vol. 4 no. 2. It is the author’s account of flying a Russian Supersonic Jet Fighter Sukhoi-27 Flanker in August 1994. The visit to Russia and flight was an adventure holiday which Frank undertook after his retirement from Aer Lingus. A lovely tale.
