Letters from the Crimea, Part 2

Paper 222

Lecture – 2001

Author – Balcombe, Elizabeth

The letters were written from the Crimea by Richard Chambre Hayes Taylor of Ardgillan. They include his observations on Lord Raglan, who was later to lead the Charge of the Light Brigade, when only 180 out of 800 came out of the manouvre alive. Richard Taylor, months before the catastrophe, said of Lord Raglan, “he constantly does these impetuous acts”.
