Des McDonagh was a native of Dublin, who lived in Skerries during the l950’s. When he was living in Skerries he became the local correspondent of the Drogheda Independent. This paper is a compilation of pieces entitled People I Meet and contains pen pictures of some of those who worked in or were visiting the Red Island Holiday Camp, which was then owned by Éamon Quinn, father of Fergal of Superquinn.
