From Dance Floor to Factory Floor: The Arcadia Ballroom in Skerries – from shimmy to chemise.
The Arcadia ballroom was located in The Square, Skerries. Afterwards it became the premises of the Skerries Shirt factory and was eventually demolished to make way for a group of houses known as Arcadia Court.
The paper contains some account of entertainment in Skerries in the 1930s and 40s but most of the paper deals with the history of the shirt factory based on interviews with employees. (10 pages).
